Counterparty Newsletter 09/05/2018

Ecosystem Updates:

It’s been a progressive month as CIP development continues with help from developers in the Counterparty community. Alongside some other interesting updates from projects in the community, check out this month’s update below!

Spells of Genesis released a new legendary Earth Cardthis past week. Users can now access the card from the in-game set of available cards, with the option to blockchainize it. The card; dubbed ‘Alrik’ is the center of Spells of Genesis’ “September Roads” Campaign. The campaign will feature the card - added September 3rd - as the reward for the for the 7th star of the campaign.

In other news, Spells of Genesis also released a Strategy blog on how to approach its in-game ‘Boss’ levels with the best strategy to defeat “the Wooden Monster” level. Check it out here.

Blockchainizator another member of Everdreamsoft’s blockchain family, created by Nicolas Sierro, has launched the AtOMo collection in Book of Orbs. The tokens will feature as 118 customized elements of the periodic tables.

It is important to note that only half of the tokens in 2018 will be on the Counterparty protocol with sales beginning on the 6th of September via the DEX. Also due is the alpha release of the AtoMo Speller, as well as an emoji pack for Slack. For more details follow the Blockchainizator on twitter!

IndieSquare Wallet has recently released an updated UI to allow users to issue tokens within the app. The IndieSquare team will also be appearing at the Tokyo game show this month between the 20th and 23rd of September. For more information, click here.

SaruTobi has brief news this month. Developer MandelDuck is working towards updates to allow users to tip via the lightning network.

FoldingCoin has a few exciting updates this month. Excitingly, the FoldingCoin statswebpage is now live. There, users can see statistics from all folders - divided into time categories - as well as, see both the top all-time teams and top all-time folders.

In other news, the FoldingCoin team has just announced that they have finished version 1 of their off-chain distribution, that they will be testing throughout the year; with the intention to go live in January 2019.

Prior to this, Merged Folding integration is in beta testing for the next few weeks; following its completion.

Age of Chains has teamed up with Whopper.io to create physical incarnations of their blockchain cards. The collaboration boasts the lucrative opportunity to get your hands on the limited edition cards, which have sold over 14,000 copies of their digital entities. Check out more here.

Bitcorn crops, an idle game of accumulation; hosted on the web and built on the blockchain, recently launched the Bitcorn foundation. Dedicated to supporting memetic causes, you can read more here.

Augmentors recently released a full-length trailer previewing the final version of their game built on the blockchain, partially using the Counterparty protocol. You can check it out below:

In other news, Augmentors recently announced their partnership with NONA; a South-African Blockchain Development Company. The benefit of the collaboration will help bring further aid to the developmental process of the games progression and smart contract basis. To learn more click here.

BitCrystals has quite a few updates within its ecosystem this month. The first, big piece of news is that BitCrystals; alongside its parent company EverdreamSoft, has partnered with UbiSoft’s startup program. To learn more click here.

Counterparty Development News:

In Development news this month, the Counterparty continues to contribute alongside our developers to work on the current CIPs and protocol.

For instance, the FoldingCoin team has recently completed CIP 0001 and CIP18 has been proposed to reduce developer burdens for a private counterparty server that needn’t limit the number of rows returned by API calls. This same CIP will provide a mechanism to then reduce the number of results a public server allows to be served on each call. As a result, the required bandwidth will be reduced in highly used servers. You can read more about this in Counterparty Talk’s CIP thread.

CIP 6 - P2SH data encoding

P2SH data encoding will allow Counterparty to utilize more space for transactions. CIP 6 will be beneficial to large transactions and is a prerequisite in supporting some of the more advanced send types, such as multi-peer-multi-asset (MPMA) and Multiparty Counterparty Aggregate Transactions (MCAT).

CIP 10 - Multi-Peer Multi-Asset Sends (MPMA)

Multi-Peer Multi-Assets sends will allow many assets to be sent to many peers in a single transaction, simplifying batch transactions, and reducing transaction fees even further.

CIP 15- Segwit Support

Enabling Segwit support within Counterparty will enable users to spend less on transaction fees and enables potential future enhancements. Updating Counterwallet will allow users to choose if they want to send assets to a segwit enabled address or a traditional address.

CIPs planned for release this year:

CIP 13 - Multiparty Counterparty Aggregate Transactions (MCAT)

MCAT will allow Counterparty users to group their transactions with those of other Counterparty users, to reduce their sends costs considerably. Most users will be able to utilize this feature to send transactions for less than the cost of a single bitcoin transaction.

CIP 13 will also allow Counterparty users to utilize MCAT nodes, to send assets across the Counterparty Network, and pay for the transaction fees in an asset other than BTC.
